If possible, moving the sofa on a dolly is the easiest way; just roll it! Lift one side of the sofa and slide the dolly underneath in the middle of the sofa. Be sure it's not a soft or weak spot. For example, the back of the sofa may not always be strong enough and could break. When navigating corners in a hallway, for example, lay a blanket on the floor. You can then stand the sofa upright and slide it by pulling on the blanket. If the sofa doesn't fit through the doorway, tilt it so that the top goes through first, followed by the bottom.
